Hi folks! Long time no write. You may or may not be aware that my entire life pretty much got put on hold for a couple of months at the end of last year when I broke my leg in a scooter accident, but now I'm up and walking and writing again! To prove I am indeed capable of going to events once again, here's an article I wrote for the Wheel about a student theater production called "Mandragola": Laughs and Lunacy in 'Mandragola'
The Wheel is currently going through change-over, which means that we're bidding adieu to the graduating seniors and welcoming in a new regime of leaders. I know it's going to be incredibly hard for me to get used to having a new editor to report to...it honestly doesn't feel like it's been a year since the Arianna/Jordan/Lane team took control. I also might be getting an ASSISTANT. I know, I'm excited too. Her name is Ellie, and she is lovely. Here are a couple of the articles she's written for me, so you can learn to love her just as much as I do: a preview of the Oscars, an interview with some of the team behind the film 'The Book Thief', and a review and analysis of the new Miley Cyrus album.
I'm hoping to stay in Atlanta for the summer--I have a couple of possible internships that I'm feeling hopeful about in the area, and I'd really prefer to stay here over the summer rather than go back home again. I'm also so, so so excited that I'm going to be spending a couple weeks in IRELAND in May. I haven't been abroad since I was 10, and I'm soooo thrilled to finally get the chance to go on a real-world adventure now, at an age when I can actually appreciate it. I've been watching lots of Irish movies (I recommend 'This Is My Father,' 'The Commitments,' and 'Ondine'...all very different but all wonderful), listening to lots of Irish music (natch, there's always U2, but I'm also getting really into Flogging Molly, the Dropkick Murphys, and The Corrs...again, all very different but all wonderful), and reading lots of travel literature (there's an excellent travel memoir called 'The Good Girl's Guide to Getting Lost') to prep for the trip. I also had to get a new passport! I got my last one when I was 13 for a trip to Canada, but needless to say I don't
